Promoting Positive Dog Training

Leicestershire Working Dog Club is training on the following Saturday afternoons 25th January 2012 and then fortnightly thereafter.

These dates are subject to change so please contact Chris Dexter on 07866 769557 for more information.

Leicestershire Working Dog Club is dedicated to training dogs in Schutzhund tracking, obedience and protection. Our club is a relaxed and friendly place to train. Our training consists of three disciplines, tracking, obedience and protection and you can train in any or all of these up to competition level if you wish. We welcome any breed of dog at any level of training from beginner to experienced.

Members are encouraged to train every week and in all three disciplines. If you are new to this training, you will receive all the help with the training you need from the club members to ensure you understand what is happening and how to progress you and your dog.Your first visit is free of charge and all visitors and new members are shown around, introduced to everyone and we work with you throughout your time with us.

We have around 100 acres of our own tracking fields, we have a brick built club house with toilets, a fully equipped kitchen that serves hot and cold food all day and a function room so you can sit down and eat. At the club grounds we have three training fields so we can accommodate events, seminars and still offer a full day of training. We have two large car parks and floodlights for evening training. Our club has beginners, novices and dogs getting ready for competition. We are in a superb central location with superb facilities so you can enjoy your day.

If you are new to this training, it is the most challenging, rewarding and fun form of training you can do with your dog.

The lower training field and club house.

Leicestershire Working Dog Club is open to everyone and dogs of all breeds and is a safe and fun way to deepen the rapport you have with your dog as you teach him :

    * Scent discrimination, accurate and deep nosed tracking

    * High focus in heelwork with willing obedience

    * To retrieve a dumbell on the flat, over a jump and hurdle and send away

    * To confidently work for the protection sleeve

As our training methods are purely motivational, the use of choke chains, pinch and electric collars is not permitted at this club so your dog enjoys the game and wants to work for you.

Come along and join in the fun. Our fully equipped venue is at:

Jubilee Playing Fields, Altar Stones Lane Markfield, Leicestershire, LE67 9PX, just two minutes off junction 22 of the M1.

Our club training day is Saturday:
